Those scientists have also located the specific trigger points and have recorded the relationship between those spots and the severity of migraine conditions.

Migraines, which are three times more common among women than men, affect between 10 and 12 percent of the population. A chronic migraine is referred to as such when it persists for over fifteen days per month. This can be extremely disruptive to the life of the sufferer.

This research team from the University of Granada Institute for Neuroscience, has now conducted three research studies on the topic. Among them, García Leiva stated that this form of treating migraines “is not a first-choice treatment for migraine sufferers, but it can only be applied in patients with chronic migraine who have tried several treatments with poor results, and who show peripheral sensitization of muscles”.

This last mission for the shuttle includes Commander Mark Kelly, pilot Greg H. Johnson, mission specialists Greg Chamitoff, Andrew Feustel, Mike Fincke, as well as Roberto Vittori from the European Space Agency.

The launch is intended for 8:56am, with the countdown clock having started this morning at 7am.

The initial launch date for Endeavour was April 29, but it was cancelled at the last minute due to a failure with a heating device.

Kelly said “It’s great to be back,” and that “We really appreciate all the hard work by the team that’s worked over the last couple of weeks to get shuttle Endeavour ready”.

Johnson and Kelley have been practicing landings in training aircraft that have been altered to handle like the space shuttles.

If technical issues and weather play along, then the launch on Monday will be the 25th, as well as being the last mission for Endeavour, which is the youngest among all of the NASA orbiter shuttles.

This announcement was made on Thursday, May 12, 2011.

Ferrell began his career on the popular comedy skit show, “Saturday Night Live” and will be receiving the 14th annual top comedy prize in Washington D.C. on October 23, 2011.

Ferrell, 43 years old, released a statement that said “I am truly honored to receive this distinction. I will now begin cultivating a Mark Twain-esque moustache in anticipation of the event”.

Since his departure from the long running NBC comedy show in 2002, Ferrell has starred in a long line of comedy hits, from “Blades of Glory” to “Old School”, “Talladega Nights” to “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy”.

However, his comedy is not limited to television and the silver screen. Ferrell also made his debut on Broadway in 2009, when he performed in a one man show in an impersonation of former US President George W. Bush, called “You’re Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush.”

This is only the latest display within a growing rivalry between these two online giants.

The WPP Group PLC’s Burson-Marsteller was hired by Facebook to pitch stories to security experts and journalists about stories that put Google’s information collecting practices from users of social networking accounts such as Facebook, into question. That said, Facebook had not revealed that they were behind this smear campaign.

However, news reports and bloggers revealed the connection between Facebook and Burson-Marsteller, and on Thursday, Facebook took quick action to attempt to minimize the PR impact of its efforts.

A spokesperson from Facebook said that they hadn’t any intention to run a smear campaign, nor did they authorize one. Instead, they said that “We engaged Burson-Marsteller to focus attention on this issue, using publicly available information that could be independently verified by any media organization or analyst,” and that “The issues are serious and we should have presented them in a serious and transparent way”.

Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, held a news conference in San Francisco, where he provided some details about the purchase, which was made in cash, and about the intentions of the company to bring in a larger number of individual and business customers.

These details included the possibility that the Xbox platform, owned by Microsoft, may one day allow its game playing users to hold video chats among themselves, or for business associates to use the Outlook email program to make audio calls. Windows Phone may also one day offer mobile conferencing.

This purchase made sure that Skype had been grabbed up before other interested companies – among which were reportedly Facebook and Google – could take advantage of the opportunity.

Ballmer explained that “By bringing together the best of Microsoft and the best of Skype, we will empower people around the world with new technologies that should bring them closer together”.

Winner of five major titles, Ballesteros was seen as an inspiration to the newest generation of golfers. He was 54 when he died in his home, early on Saturday morning, after having lost his lengthy battle with a form of brain cancer.

As his ashes were carried along a procession of about 10 minutes in length, which was lead by a piper and the golfer’s three children, Carmen, Miguel, and Javier. Under the grey skies, about 500 mourners lined the cobblestoned streets in the town as the brown urn passed by.

The houses along the route flew Spanish flags and black ribbons, which also fluttered from balcony rails. The local rowing club of which his father had been an important member, raised their oars for a guard of honor.

Three irons were raised by the children in the Seve Ballesteros Foundation as a symbol of the club where he began practicing for his golf career in his youth.

Ivan Ballesteros, Seve’s cousin, said in the televised service that “He was a boy from a village in the north of Spain who revolutionized golf across five continents.”

The findings from this study were published in the Breast Cancer Research journal online.

Though experts are finding these results to be fascinating, they do note that the research involved the accounting for all other contributing factors to the risk of these types of breast cancer, such as a sedentary lifestyle, excess weight, and the use of hormones. They encourage women to continue to focus their efforts to reduce their risk of the disease on changing their lifestyle habits such as by taking part in daily exercise as they remain very important.

In a news release, the researchers said that “There is often conflicting information about the beneficial effects of coffee – when we compared our results to that of a German study we discovered that their data showed the same trend, but the relationship was much weaker. We suggest that this may have something to do with the way the coffee was prepared, or the type of bean preferred”.

This may drive the tightened corn supply upward, easing the price of food by the end of this year.

In fact, it is anticipated by the Agricultural Department that the exports of American corn will be slashed by 50 million bushels during the summer months. This may help in bringing the year-end surplus of corn to 730 million by the end of August, when the harvest of the crops will start. This would mean an increase of 8 percent over previous predictions.

Right now, even larger crops of corn are being planted, as the government predicts that its supply will grow to 900 million bushels by the year 2012.

Analyst Jason Ward at Minneapolis-based Northstar Commodity said that “The idea behind that is that prices are high enough to ration demand”. The price of corn started sliding last week as commodities contracts were sold from grains to metals and oil, counting on the belief that consumers will begin reducing their spending as a result of the higher prices.

It also keeps ants, flies, moths, and all other insects away.

This potential new insect repellant class was found within the laboratory of professor Laurence Zwiebel of Vanderbilt Biological Sciences. The findings were reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences online Early Edition.

David Rinker, a graduate student who collaborated with Gregory Pask, another graduate student, and Patrick Jones, a post-doctoral fellow, said that “It wasn’t something we set out to find,” but that “It was an anomaly that we noticed in our tests”.

The tests were initially intended to develop a new way to assist in controlling malaria’s spread by interrupting the ability of the mosquito – the insect through which the disease is spread – to smell. The research was funded through a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation grant, as well as from support from the Grand Challenges in Global Health Initiative.

Curry will be taking her co-anchor position opposite Matt Lauer. Also joining will be Natalie Morales, who will be newsreader, as well as Savannah Guthrie, who will begin as co-host within the third hour with Al Rocker and Morales.

NBC News president, Steve Capus, announced at a press conference that the network was making these alterations to the show from a “position of strength”. The “Today” show is the most profitable television show, as it brings in approximately $200 million every year.

When Vieira was selected for the co-host position, five years ago, she was chosen over Curry. There remain some internal speculations about the chemistry between Curry and Lauer.

Lauer, for his part, stated that he would “miss Meredith like crazy,” but equally doled out the praises to Curry, who has been with the program for fifteen years and has shared the host couch with her over 200 times already on the show.
